Crabbing Contest a Real Winner

On Saturday 17 May some 50 people turned up to take part in the Club's Crabbing Contest and whilst several of them were over 18 years old it was the Cadets and Otters who won all the prizes. The competition was fierce and the concentration intense and at the end of it all there were some very large crabs, some incredibly small ones and even some pregnant ones. After the judging was over and the prizes handed out the competitors and onlookers all sat down to a feast of pie and mash or sausage and mash followed by a great selection of sweets. And as for the crabs, they were all released back into the sea to carry on doing whatever crabs do when they're not being tempted by bits of bacon on a line!
