Gunfleet Sailing Club was buzzing today, Sunday 22 March, as members made the final preparations for the start of the sailing season.  The six seasonal race marks were laid, Seaward buoy cleaned, the winch slider control set up, the new trailer for Rescue Boat 1 adjusted for that perfect fit, and the Clubhouse given a real sparkle; plus some homemade cakes to celebrate the hard work.

Gunfleet Sailing Club sprung to life last Saturday 7 February 2026 when more than 20 members descended onto the cliffs to carry out the annual cutting back of the tamarisk.  Armed with a wide variety of gardening tools the team worked hard to clear the cliff of overgrowth, and pile it up ready for shredding.  The weather was kind, after previous days of torrential rain, and the sun put in an occasional appearance; however the camaraderie shone through throughout the day.
